Abstract: This papers aims at showing the possible impact of the Economic Complementation Agreement Nr. 59 (ACE 59) signed between Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and the MERCOSUR on the current Bolivian exports to the said signatory countries. As Bolivia is at the same time a member country of the CAN and an associate member of the MERCOSUR, the ACE 59 creates a new scene for the Bolivian interests, characterized by an erosion of the implicit protection received by Bolivia in those markets. After identifying the problem, the authors analysed the main Bolivian products imported by those markets, their past and current treatment to the imports of the same products from other origins, as well as the capacity of those providers to replace the Bolivian exporters.
